What you get before anybody is booked
Every waterproofing company in Simcoe County offers a free inspection. It commits them to nothing and it is usually a sales visit with a clipboard. These are the parts we owe you whether or not the work comes to us.
If downspout extensions and regrading would fix it, you hear that before anybody quotes you a drainage system.
A large share of wet basements in this area are surface water that was never supposed to reach the wall: a downspout discharging at the foundation, or ground that slopes back toward the house. That fix is a few hundred dollars of eavestrough and soil, and it is the answer a waterproofing company least wants to give. You get it given.
Where the water enters and what is putting it there — groundwater under pressure, surface water, or a sewer backup — named before anyone talks systems.
Groundwater under pressure and a sewer backup look identical on a basement floor and need completely different work. A quote that never names the mechanism is a guess about the most expensive repair in the house — hold any quote you get, including ours, against that test.

A leaking supply line, a roof putting water down a wall cavity, a horizontal crack that needs an engineer rather than a contractor. If it is one of those, the answer comes with the reason and, where we know one, the trade that does handle it.
None of these is about the workmanship, or the warranty on a drainage system. Those belong on the quote and they are worth reading line by line. These are what you get before you have decided anything.
